Applying and not hearing back?
Find out how recruiters read you, and why you’re not getting callbacks.
Recruiters only give your resume a few seconds — and they often see a different candidate than you do. Blind Read gives you an honest recruiter’s read: the level you come across at, and the first three things to fix.
No subscription. No upsell, no rewrite pitch.

It feels like the brutally honest truth others see but no one tells you. It gave me the truth I needed to edit my direction.
It read me correctly: ‘a deliberate shift away from management.’ GUILTY AS CHARGED!
It doesn’t give you the full answer. You fill in your own details, which helps you understand what phrasing and details matter on a resume. I love it!
See what you actually get.
- A 30-second verdict in a screener’s words
- Your level, set against the level you’re targeting
- Five dimensions, each backed by your own lines
- Your top three fixes, with rewrites you can use
The silence is the problem.
Recruiters don’t give feedback to candidates they pass on. So you never learn how you’re being read — only that something isn’t landing. You rewrite bullets in the dark and hope.
Keyword and ATS scanners check whether a machine can parse you. That is not the same question as whether a senior recruiter, thirty seconds into a skim, believes you operate at the level you’re claiming.
Other tools answer a different question.
Each of these is useful for something. None of them tells you how a recruiter reads you.
| Good for | What it can’t tell you | |
|---|---|---|
| ATS scanners | Good for Checking that software can parse your resume | What it can’t tell you Whether a recruiter believes you’re at the level you claim |
| Resume scores | Good for A quick grade and line-level suggestions | What it can’t tell you What the score means to a recruiter. A 78 isn’t a verdict on what level you read at. |
| AI chatbots | Good for Quick edits and rewording | What it can’t tell you A consistent verdict. Ask twice, get two answers, and it’s built to be agreeable. |
| Free resume reviews | Good for A fast first look | What it can’t tell you An independent opinion. Most exist to sell you a rewrite package. |
Blind Read does one thing: the read.
Every judgment cites the line
Each conclusion quotes the exact resume text that caused it, read against the same fixed recruiter rubric every time. You can argue with the reasoning instead of guessing at it.
It doesn’t flatter you
Blind Read is built to tell you what a recruiter would think in the first few seconds, including the parts you won’t like.
It tells you the level you read at
Your title says one thing. Your resume may say another. You’ll see where a recruiter would place you, and what’s holding you there.
About Blind Read
Blind Read is built by Promontory CX, a customer experience consultancy in New York.
CX work is about one question: how does something actually come across to the person on the other end? Blind Read applies that to resumes. It gives you a recruiter’s first-pass read: the level they’d peg you at, the line where they’d stop, and what would change their mind.
